Appendix A - Nueva Vida 2000
New Life 2000 is a
comprehensive plan for world evangelism designed to help fulfill the Great
Commission.
We have divided
the world into 5,000 ministry regions, one for each population area
of approximately one million people. The plan calls for reestablishing
a New Life Training Center in each of these regions. Each Training Center,
directed and staffed by highly-trained, Spirit-filled local national
Christians, will have its own tailor-made, culturalized ministry strategy
to coordinate the work of evangelism and discipleship in its area.
The strategy includes
the use of the "JESUS" film,
an ongoing program of leadership training, and other evangelistic efforts
to give everyone in the region a chance to say "yes" to Christ.
The plan for each
main population area also calls for planting hundreds of New Life Groups,
ranging in size from ten to thirty people and composed largely of new
Christians. Those who respond to the gospel will be brought into the
fellowship of these small groups. The New Life Training Center will
provide further discipling with emphasis on "spiritual multiplication"
in accordance with 2 Timothy 2:2.
The goals of New
Life 2000 are to:
- Present the
gospel to more than 6 billion people by the year 2000
- Introduce at
least 1 billion people to faith in Jesus Christ
- Involve 200
million new Christians in New Life Groups
- Train millions
of leaders through 5,000 New Life Training Centers
- Establish discipleship
and training ministries on 8,000 campuses worldwide to help introduce
millions of college students and their professors to Christ
- Start 10 million
New Life Groups
- Help establish
more than 1 million churches in cooperation with thousands of churches
of all Christian denominations
- Assist local
churches and individuals in adopting one or more of the 5,000 New
Life Training Centers at an average cost of $50,000 per center.
Christians from North
America, Europe and more than 150 nations around the world are a part
of New Life 2000. These men and women from diverse backgrounds include
pastors, students, businessmen, homemakers, diplomats, prisoners, farmers,
athletes, executives and military leaders. Millions of believers within
thousands of churches, denominations, organizations and mission agencies
are uniting to make New Life 2000 a priority for their evangelism and
discipleship ministries at home and abroad.
Campus Crusade
for Christ is seeking to recruit tens of thousands of full-time and
trained volunteers to give leadership to the New Life Training Centers
and the "JESUS" film teams that
are needed to communicate the gospel to more than six billion people
by the year 2000.
